Fabiyino (fah-bee-yee-nah) Germain-Bajowa is a writer, curator, and interdisciplinary artist based in Kjipuktuk (Halifax). Engaging archives of thought and memory passed down through oral history, food, and acts of care, her art practice emphasizes community building. Her work draws on and centres Afro-diasporic experience to build knowledge through the lens of care theory. She has curated programs such as "Tell the Body" for Vtape (Toronto), and "a language of bodies" for Victory Festival (Toronto). She recently earned her BFA in Criticism and Curatorial Practice from OCAD University, where she was a research assistant with the Centre for the Study of Black Canadian Diaspora.
